Top 5 form specialists.

Post by Fated Xtasy on Thu Jan 29, 2015 7:56 pm

Right so this is a list where we name the top 5 Form specialists for each of the seven forms. This based on accolades, hype and showings.  again the keyword is "Specialists" They can use multiple forms, that's fine. but they have to rely on one form more than the other.(example. Yoda with Ataru, Sidious with Juyo and Sora Bulq with Vaapad)

So, seeing as it's one of my favorites forms. I'll start with Makashi.

#1- Dooku. This needs no explanation lol.

#2-Asajj Ventress. Seeing as how she's basically trained by Dooku and managed to fight against and kill so prominent Jedi Masters and High council members.

#3- Shaak Ti. Okay, okay. yeah she uses a hybrid version of this. However her style is very in keeping with Makashi, attack with a single deadly strike and never going all out. Idk. I personally see Shaak Ti as more of a Makashi user than an Ataru. Even in TFU her attacks are all precise and deadly. again very in keeping with the core tenets of Makashi.

#4- Xanatos. A very underrated man by all means. Xanatos is a very resourceful man, despite his lack of training, his use of Makashi allowed him to ward off both Tiny-Wan and Qui-Gon Jinn. In most of his fights, he very rarely uses acrobats and instead relies on his cunning and ambidexterity.  He's obviously a excellent Makashi practitioner but in no way on par with Ti or Ventress.

#5 - Valenthyne Farfalla.  A more underrated man than anyone on here, Described as a very elegant man and given his flamboyant style as well as the description of his fighting style, Farfalla is without a doubt a skilled Makashi practitioner, not a dooku or a Xanatos. but not at all a weak man.

I'd continue, but I could spend hours on this and i'd rather not. let me know what you guys think. <3

Form V, Shien/Djem So

#1. Luke Skywalker. Arguably the best lightsaber duelist in the mythos, forged his fighting style around Djem So as his primary.

#2. Darth Bane. With Djem So as the core and backbone of his style, Darth Bane drove Kas'im into a desperate retreat, knocked Raskta Lsu on her ass, and held an edge over Zannah in the lightsaber portion of their final duel.

#3. Anakin/Vader. As Anakin, he bested the Form II master Darth Tyranus in a lightsaber duel, and as Vader, he used Djem So as the core and backbone of his personalized fighting style and ultimately became, from my point of view, a greater duelist than he was as Anakin.

#4. Ulic Qel Droma. Defeated Dark Side warrior Warb Null, and stalemated Exar Kun in a lightsaber duel (though this was before Kun got his pimpsaber).

#5. Sarro Xaj. Sarro mastered Djem So, with immense strength, skill, and a weapon with great leverage backing him, and was well on his way to becoming a Weapons Master. Not only that, but he appears to have moved beyond Djem So's shortcomings, being incredibly fast, agile, elegant graceful, and unpredictable. His skill was such that Zannah considered him to have elevated combat to it's purest and highest form.

Form III: Soresu.

Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Like Dooku, this needs no explanation. Obi-Wan was one of the first masters of Soresu to come out of the EU and his fighting style as of ANH was later turned into what would have been known later in Luke's New jedi Order as. The Fast Style.

Darth Zannah.

Pretty much confirmed to be one of the top masters of Soresu of all time. She's held off and defeated the mighty Darth Bane as well as the infamous Set Harth. I'd wager that her being so high in the Soresu list would rustle the feathers of even the guys from CV but, i don't care, she's tough, talented and one of the top masters of Soresu.

Gnost Dural:

A guy who's mastered 5 out of the 7 forms(with Makashi and Shii-Cho being arguable in terms of mastery) Gnost has demonstrated great talent with all 5 forms of lightsaber combat. However, i believe that Soresu is his best form. with it he was able to form an impenetrable defense against several opponents, very impressive coming from a man who most people disregard because he was a Historian.

Luminara Unduli:

Now Joker might kill me for putting her so low on the list, but it's for a good reason. While she has always been described as a master of Soresu i don't think Luminara is on par with Gnost, Zannah or Obi-Wan in terms of actual skill with Soresu. However having managed to have held off Asajj Ventress and several attack droids on Ilum, i do think that Luminara is highly deserving of a place in the top 5.

Barriss Offee

trained under Luminara and confirmed to be a user of Soresu, Barriss is no doubt highly skilled in her use of Soresu as she was able to hold off several Attack Droids and hold her own against Anakin skywalker for a time. while not the foundation of her style, i do think Soresu played a huge part in her overall battle style.

Form VII: Juyo/Vaapad

Mace Windu: Dude fucking invented Vaapad, one of the Form VII variants, by combining Form VII moves, Juyo's focus on passion and emotion, the obscure power known as Battlemind, along with a variety of other skills and techniques. Aside from being its creator, Mace Windu was the only Jedi to truly master Vaapad without falling to the Dark Side. In his mastery of Vaapad, Windu was stated to be second only to Yoda as a duelist in the Jedi Order of his time, and his fighting style allowed him to contend with Darth Sidious himself in a lightsaber duel.

Darth Maul: Maul was a master of Juyo, devoted to the form's physical focus, and backed up his skill in Juyo with a variety of other forms of martial combat, though Juyo remained his primary form. Maul was skillful at employing Juyo with a saberstaff, a single blade, or dual blades to great effect, defeating the legendary swordsman Qui-gon Jinn with his saberstaff, contending with the legendary duelist and Jedi Obi-wan Kenobi as well as easily outsparring Savage Opress with a single bladed lightsaber, contending with the infamous General Grievous with the darksaber, and even lasting over twenty seconds against Darth Sidious while employing his fighting style with dual blades.

Depa Billaba: Depa Billaba mastered Vaapad (or Vaapad mastered her, depending on what way you look at it, and either way her lightsaber skills are insanely impressive regardless of the philosophical standpoint of whether or not her usage of this fighting style controls her), and remains the second most skilled practitioner of it. She even drove Windu back on Haruun Kal, and while it is my conviction that there were certain circumstances hampering Windu, driving Mace motherfucking Windu into a desperate retreat is hardly something to scoff at, it's fucking phenomenal.

Jaric Kaedan: He was the only known master and practitioner of the Form VII variant known as "Juyo-Kos," described as a living weapon of the Force. Jaric Kaedan was the Jedi who spearheaded the capture of the six Dread Masters, leading a Republic Special Forces team against them. As the only known Jedi involved in their capture, it can be inferred that his skill with Juyo-Kos had a lot to do with his victory, and his capability to resist the Dread Masters illusions demonstrates the control over his mind and emotions as well as force of will it would take to master any Form VII variant without falling to the Dark Side.

Sora Bulq: Bulq helped Windu create Vaapad, and is considered one of the great duelists of his time, and one of the greatest Jedi Lightsaber instructors of all time. Bulq was "mastered by Vaapad," falling to the Dark Side as he made use of the form. With his dual bladed application of Vaapad, utilizing a standard lightsaber and a shoto respectively, Bulq was able to defeat Tholme, hold an edge over Quinlan Vos in their duel, and even duel with Windu for a little while.

Ataru. Because I'm pretty much an expert on this freaking form. Unfortunately.

Yoda:
Is there really any need for me to explain? The guy could become a "whirlwind of destruction" nuff said.

Qui-Gon-Jinn:
Qui-Gon used a very strange variation of Ataru, one that used acrobatics, but not to the usual extent that is expected of Ataru practitioners. Instead he utilized a very strength and precision based Ataru.

I'll do the rest later.
